CAROL JEAN ORR, 76 SALEM-There will be Services at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Lane Family Funeral Homes-Anstrom Chapel, 8387 Tod Ave. in Boardman, for Carol Jean Orr, 76, who died Monday morning at Courtyard of Lexington in Salem. Carol was born August 20, 1938 in Youngstown, a daughter of James Allen and Ruth Craig Stratton. Carol was a home-maker. She had been employed by A-1 Driving School of Austintown as a Driver Education Teacher for five years. Carol was a 1956 graduate of Boardman High School. Carol loved being with her family and watching her granddaughters but her greatest joy was spending time with her beloved husband, Art. Carol was a member of Christ's Church in Boardman. She was also a member of the Youngstown Saxon Club, Branch No. 22, the Ladies Oriental Shrine and the Columbiana Chapter No. 428, Order of the Eastern Star. Carol was a self-taught and very talented seamstress. She also enjoyed shopping very much. Carol's husband of 53 years, Arthur William Orr, whom she married July 7, 1956, died June 6, 2009. Carol is survived by her daughters, Jody L. Orr of North Lima and Kimberly E. (Kevin) Jamison of Salem; her brother, Donald (Mildred) Stratton of Poland; her sister-in-law, Margaret Goorfin of North Hollywood, CA; her granddaughters, Kasey Lee Jamison and Kyla Jean Jamison and a host of nieces and nephews. Carol also leaves a beloved friend, James Roberts of Salinville, who the family loves dearly and he was always there to hold her hand. Besides her husband, Carol was preceded in death by her sister, Martha Hickman and her sister-in-law, Carolyn Grossman. Friends may call on Monday from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home and from 10-11 a.m. prior to the Service on Tuesday.
