Lynn L. Westover, 76, formerly of Pinehurst, North Carolina, passed away on Monday, November 28, 2016 at his home. He was born on March 31, 1940 in Lisbon, Ohio, son of the late Alma A. (Andreatta) Burgoon and Ralph P. Westover. Lynn graduated from David Anderson High School in Lisbon in 1958. He joined the United States Army the same year and served for 42 months, including one tour overseas in Turkey. After serving our country, Lynn attended and graduated from Kent State University with a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering. Lynn went on to work for Tennessee Gas, was Vice President of Engineering for Warner Cable, and owned Lynn Telecommunication, and Lynn Landscaping in Pinehurst, North Carolina. Lynn was a member of the Lisbon VFW and Eagles. He was an artist who enjoyed painting and playing music, and enjoyed going golfing. Lynn restored antique clocks of all kinds and restored a 1936 Ford car called "The Blue Lady"and a 1940 Chevy pickup. Lynn was a workaholic and a perfectionist who expected the best from everyone, and if they didn't come through, he fixed it. Lynn is survived by his children, Todd (Jennifer) Westover of Ostrander, OH, Lynn "J.R." L. Westover, Jr. of Jacksonville, FL, and Laura (Brad Covington) Westover of Pinehurst, NC.; grandchildren, Todd Westover, Jr., and Tyler Westover; twin brother and sister, Wayne R. (Dianna) Westover of Warren, and Jayne A. (Eric "Swede") Zetterquist of Champion Twp., OH; half sister, Linda Derrick of Lisbon, OH; and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Ralph Westover and Alma Burgoon; daughter, Diana Westover and siblings, Lester Allen Westover and Jeanne Garvin. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, December 3rd, 2016 from 10:30AM to 12:30PM at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Roberts Clark Chapel, 180 Garfield Drive NE, Warren, Ohio. A memorial service will follow calling hours, beginning at 12:30PM at the funeral home. Full Military Honors will be held at the funeral home to conclude the services.
